ACUTEC have been instrumental in helping us to establish a network and services for staff which is reliable and fits our purpose. Staff are able to do their work and the charity can run efficiently with minimal disruption.
The ACUTime Data Scanner has further improved our processes, we now know where our staff are, we can account for them if there was an emergency in the building; before this was all recorded on paper which, given the environment we work in, would become dirty, wet or lost.
It has given us a time and attendance facility with an instant view so that we can see trends relating to staff and who they are visiting. Should it be necessary, it also gives us the ability to see data relating to problem staff members. On the whole, the new system has made us more efficient which means we have more time to concentrate on providing the best service for our clients.There were costs to the company in wasted materials from damaged bottles to raw ingredients. As well as paying effluent expenses for any beer that gets flushed away and replacing damaged bottles, there were environmental costs to consider. Initiatives have now been put in place on the factory floor using ACUTEC’s monitoring programmes which have improved our overall waste management performance.
We have seen significant improvements over the last twelve months that have helped us maintain our competitive edge and confirmed our status as a world class manufacturing site. Through the reports ACUTEC’s software packages compile, we can identify ways to reduce waste - making us more economical and eco-friendly.ACUTEC challenged our need for complex IT solutions, they got to the root of our needs and came up with a much simpler and cheaper approach than the other IT companies we looked at.
We met three companies to discuss the challenge we had. Two of the firms didn’t feel they could carry out such a complex development in the timeframe. But when we met Colin Gillies and Steve Best from ACUTEC, it was clear they wanted the project and were excited by its complexity and the fact that it was something different.
We are still working together with ACUTEC, but it’s been an exciting few months to get to the point where we can say we have a great system that is scalable and has outstanding functionality which benefits both our customers and staff.
We were not sure we would get here back in March 2012, but thanks to such a great working relationship with ACUTEC, we did it.We have been talking to them about a new system for larger retailers such as John Lewis, who stock our products. It will allow their customers to order via their websites, the order comes through to us and we dispatch direct to the customer. That work is ongoing but ACUTEC did such great work for us on the website it made perfect sense to talk to them about this project too.
