We know that customers are moving away from having on-premise data centres, to purpose-built data centres such as NEXTDC, that gives them the reliability and stability you would expect out of a facility like that. We’ve selected NEXTDC to host our equipment because NEXTDC ticked all of the boxes; all of the normal compliance, security and facility management elements of a data centre and we’ve been really happy.
NEXTDC is perfect in the business it does: rock-solid, safe, secure, bullet-proof data centres and facility services, at a level we could not compete with at that value, and it lets me focus on providing the information and business support systems to the partners and staff of the firm without having to worry about any of that.
And as we mature in our use of those services we can take on other services from NEXTDC as well, like some of the high-speed, high-performance interconnects to some of our cloud providers, so we can take advantage of the cloud opportunities without some of the disadvantages typically associated with those solutions.We know we’ve got the secure locked cages, all of the security and access controls, as well as comms diversity and power diversity, all of the standard stuff that we take for granted, but when you look around at some of the other data centres, you question ‘is this actually real?’, whereas with NEXTDC we know it is.
When we started investigating the marketplace for data centre providers, NEXTDC ticked the boxes that were most important to us. The facility is world-class in every sense, with multi-layered security, power efficiency and climate control all boasting world-leading technologies, and their carrier-neutral position allowed us to continue an existing carrier relationship.
