There were a few potential concerns with moving premises but our network connectivity is now faster and stronger than ever, therefore it has actually turned out to be a major - and unexpected - benefit of the move.
Commsworld were adamant they could deliver a better solution by unbundling everything and starting again and that is exactly what they have done. It is very impressive.
Resilience and reliability are obviously incredibly important factors when it comes to navigation and position solutions therefore this has made a major impact to our business.With regards to our WAN project, I am delighted that an emerging and expanding SME such as Commsworld were able to be a key part of this transformational project for Edinburgh City. Especially as they are headquartered in Edinburgh. This demonstrates the successful flow down of Public Sector investments to the local economy.
Whilst the delivery of the Wide Area Network is a relatively smaller proportion on the whole ICT outsourcing contract, it is a vital building block upon which everything else depends. With this deployment the Council and therefore Commsworld were always up against an immensely difficult time barrier to bring the new infrastructure live but it was successfully delivered on time and on budget. Other suppliers stated that this would take 2 or 3 years as opposed to the 9 months within which Commsworld successfully delivered.
Commsworld were extremely fleet of foot and demonstrated excellent levels of technical knowledge and expertise throughout the project.
The significantly increased bandwidths delivered by CommsWorld will support the increasing demands for access to services and content for many years to come and propels the City of Edinburgh into the 21st Century and comparable to worldwide digital cities such as Singapore and Seoul.
