About the role

• continuously evolving our approach to technology by tracking emerging technologies, analysing their applicability and supporting their adoption if in-line with business goals and objectives through the technology roadmap
• execution of technology assessments with the our team, showcasing the outcomes to our team, clients and broader industry

• provide technical leadership for solution offerings and/or proof of concepts in the cloud space
• working within agile software delivery teams on customer sites
• helping our clients maintain and run reliable applications and systems
• activating participation in knowledge sharing sessions with other team members
• promoting good software engineering and DevOps practices
• applying best practices to security in everything you do
• keeping your skills up to date and always be looking for continuous improvement
• exploration and innovation - understand client workflows including strengths and weaknesses to identify new tech/solutions/improvements to make processes more efficient
• developing documentation as good as the solutions you create
• using automation and testing to make systems not only fast but reliable and repeatable
• evaluating and implementing new Azure services, infrastructure design patterns, competitor offerings, etc.
• assisting pre-sales team inclusive of solution architecture, technology selection and effort estimation
• managing technical relationships with Microsoft contacts
• mentoring and coaching of our team members and clients
• ongoing technical guidance and support to development teams
• creating/delivering of presentations to our team, clients, meetup groups and conference participants on relevant technology topics
• participate in technical interviews for new prospective recruits

What you'll need to be successful:

• hands-on end-to-end experience planning, provisioning, and managing Azure infrastructure
• experience building and maintaining cloud based applications, as well as familiarity with agile software delivery and DevOps principles (systems thinking, continuous improvement)
• consulting experience, either with external clients or internally within an organisation (desirable)
• the ability to design, consult and deliver the engineering of state-of-the-art technical solutions on Azure that address customer's requirements for scalability, reliability, security, and performance
• a keen interest in automation and leveraging modern technology and tools to speed up delivery of applications and services
• the ability to script in at least one language and have a willingness to learn new ones
• the expertise to advise clients on the right technology and solutions for the given business context
• act as the primary advisor/point of contact for the design, deployment, and support of large, complex cloud systems
• excellent verbal and written communication skills
• strong time management skills with ability to prioritise workloads under pressure and meet deadlines
• the chance to contribute to and propose new solution accelerator offerings
• the client facing skills to support pre-sales inclusive of solution design, technology selection and effort estimation
• a passion for mentoring and coaching of our team members and clients
• a self-starting attitude, be hands on, and know how to find answers and work with ambiguity
