What will we ask you to do?

  • Lead a multi-skilled team of storage and backup resources and act as the escalation point for team members for resolution of all related incidents and/or tasks and minor works.
  • Motivate and lead team to achieve agreed timelines, SLA and defined standards across Incident, Request, Change, Problem and Continual Service Improvement.
  • Coach and develop the teams to maximise service quality against set KPIs.
  • Collaboration with customer facing colleagues to ensure alignment and identification of cross delivery dependencies.
  • Co-operate with other teams in the Managed Services Business Unit to enhance delivery and identify opportunities for efficiencies, growth, and development.
  • Demonstrate ownership, accountability and trust and lead by example to demonstrate these values. Encourage team to adopt these values and live it daily through conduct and behaviour.
  • Liaise with customers to perform incident analysis and problem resolution management, to required service targets, defining and recommending solutions where no precedent solution is available.
  • Provide on-call support in association with wider on-call roster
  • Assess and evaluate risk and understand the implications of new technologies.


Your key skills, abilities and experience:

  • 5+ years’ experience in the provision and support of Storage and Backup technical services in an outsourcing environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to develop relationship with clients and vendors as well as internal and external stakeholders.
  • Previous experience in mentoring and developing junior team members.
  • Ability to solve complex Storage and Backup problems in large scale environments.
  • Storage and Backup skills across public and private cloud environment
  • Storage and backup Technologies across multiple vendors; DellEMC, HPE, NetApp, Commvault, EMC Avamar, Veeam.
