What You’ll Be Doing

AMS is looking for an outstanding, experienced, and established Senior Business Development Manager to grow our client base and sell IT Managed Service solutions to the identified target market such as,

  • Managed Services across a range of XaaS offerings and deployment models such as public, private and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Network Connectivity Services such as ethernet links, wireless connectivity, micro-wave, internet, connectivity gateways, back-up failover links etc.
  • Professional Services such as engagements, onsite audits, consulting services, design, installations, deployments, support, integrations, and configuration services.
  • Enterprise Infrastructure such as Servers, Storage, Networking and Data Centre hardware and operational software. (e.g., Security, Back-up, and Virtualisation software)

We are looking for someone with Corporate as well as Public sector experience that can leverage its network and experience to grow our presence on these markets.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Actively seek out and close sales opportunities within new accounts through networking, cold calling, marketing generated leads, vendor leads and social media.
  • A strong consultative approach to working with customers to solve their business IT challenges.
  • Strong technical capability and knowledge to work with customers on developing solutions to their business IT challenges.
  • Establish business relationships, networks, and spheres of influence within customers.
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to close deals, manage customer expectations and handle objections.
  • Secure and expand new accounts.
  • Grow share of wallet with current customers maximising spend within the target lines of business (MRR Services, Professional Services and Enterprise Infrastructure).
  • Tell the Somerville story to engage at customer meetings, exhibitions, trade shows, and conferences.
  • Utilise the CRM tools to manage current and target clients.
  • Proactively build a substantial pipeline of opportunities and provide accurate monthly sales forecasts.
  • Meet or exceed monthly and annual sales goals.
  • Collaborate with management on sales goals, planning and forecasting.
  • Maintain short- and long-term development plans.
  • Align activities to KPIs to hit the right targets.
  • Work closely with key Vendors to collaborate on opportunities to win.

What will make you successful in this role?

  • A proven “hunter” with consultative selling skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and influence at operational, management and senior executive levels.
  • Must have background and experience in IT sales, managed service providers and/or enterprise infrastructure.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Monthly Recurring Revenue Services, Professional Services and Enterprise Infrastructure to sell services across target customer base.
  • Technical knowledge to be able to discuss customer’s IT environment, perform detailed level needs analysis and solutions, as well as build and present the value proposition for the customer.
  • An understanding of Cloud disciplines across Access, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and deployment models such as public, private and hybrid.
  • Commercial and business acumen, with the capability to support end-to-end sales engagements.
  • Ability to prepare and present quality sales proposals.
  • Ability to travel and work from different locations such as customer sites, Brisbane office and home.
  • A self-starter who can work independently, as well as collaboratively with the inbound and outbound sales team.
  • Positive work ethics and self-driven attitude.
  • Strong leadership traits and the drive to succeed.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
