As a key member of our Security Operations Centre (SOC)’s team leadership, you will ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of both Nexon’s and its clients’ systems and assets. With the ability to build strong relationships with customers and collaborate with cross-functional leaders internally, you’ll deliver consistently excellent customer experiences.


The successful candidate will be organised and have documented experience and proven abilities within incident management and senior analyst-level technical advice. The objectives of the role are:

  • Support the day-to-day operation of Cyber Security Operations within our Cyber Security Strategy.
  • Provide a senior technical level of knowledge within Security applications.
  • Lead P1/P2 Incident Management
  • Work as the SME on a range of cyber platforms and supporting seconder to additional cyber platforms.
  • Provide insightful and contextual recommendations and analysis to customers to drive risk mitigation prioritisation.
  • Mentor other team members – ‘We rise by lifting others’.

 Key Responsibilities 

  • Provide senior-level technical assistance for the identification and investigation of security incidents whilst maintaining timely, accurate documentation
  • Lead the full Incident Management process including but not limited to standing up bridges, assigning analysts, post-incident reporting , and lessons learned.
  • Understand the organisation’s and customer’s environments and culture, which could impact on incident resolution.
  • Create and contribute to detailed, in time documentation for the uplift of all within the SOC.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to make recommendations regarding the selection of cost-effective security controls to mitigate risk (e.g., protection of information, systems and processes) or for internal processes

  • Contribute to the design and implementation of metrics/reporting.

Experience & Knowledge 

  • Minimum 5-7 years in a Security Operations Centre  (SOC)
  • In-depth knowledge and usage of a minimum of two of the following:
  • Cloud Management & Defence,
  • Incident Management,
  • End Point Detection and Response,
  • Automation,
  • Next Generation firewalls
  • Strong verbal and written communication, customer relationship, strategic planning and project management skills
  • Analytical and process-oriented mindset
  • Comfortable working across multiple departments in a deadline-driven environment
  • Active team player, self-starter, and multitasker who can quickly adjust priorities
  • Experience configuring dashboards for metrics/reporting
  • Degree in Information Technology, Cert IV in Cyber Security or similar
  • Right to work full-time in Australia.

Experience and Knowledge Considered Favourably

  • Deployment and utilisation of common security tools relevant to Security Operations e.g., Microsoft Sentinel, Carbon Black, Crowdstrike, Splunk, Elastic, Mimecast
  • Deployment and Utilisation of cloud-based SaaS/PaaS/IaaS services,
  • Security certifications (CISSP, OSCP) or relevant vendor certifications (Microsoft Sentinel, Sentinel 1, Tines)
  • Experience with major cloud platforms and services (Azure, GCP, AWS)
