Role Overview-

Tesserent is seeking an experienced and motivated Automation Engineer to join our AI, Automation and Data team. This role will primarily focus on designing, developing, and implementing automation solutions using Terraform and Microsoft 365 / Azure services.As an Automation Engineer, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to analyse requirements, design automation solutions, and integrate them seamlessly into existing workflows. You will also use your strong communication skills to engage with customers to assess their requirements and provide appropriate recommendations on how to start or continue their automation journey.

Accountabilities-

  • Design, develop, and implement automation workflows leveraging Microsoft 365, Azure and AWS tools including but not limited to Power Automate, Logic Apps, Form Recognizer and Azure Functions to streamline business processes.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform to provision and manage Azure and AWS resources efficiently.
  • Create and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Bash, and Python to automate repetitive tasks and improve operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external customers to identify automation opportunities and implement solutions to optimise workflows and increase productivity.
  • Monitor and optimise automation processes to ensure reliability, scalability, and performance.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to internal teams on automation best practices and methodologies.
  • Assist with the implementation and management of automation tooling.
  • Ensure processes and tooling documentation is of a high quality and accurately reflects the current environment state.
  • Contribute to the development and sharing of knowledge across the Tesserent Group
  • Work alongside the sales team in identifying and where required, developing new opportunities with existing and new customers.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve automation capabilities.

 

Competencies

Technical Skills-

  • Strong experience with Power Automate and/or Logic Apps for workflow automation and integration.
  • Proficient in infrastructure as code concepts and experience with Terraform for provisioning and managing Azure/AWS/VMware resources.
  • Solid scripting skills in PowerShell or Python for automation and task orchestration.
  • Hands-on experience integrating applications via web services.
  • Comfortable with the use of Git and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Understanding of networking, security, and identity management concepts in the cloud environment.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools for automation processes.
  • Able to produce well written documentation for technical and non-technical consumption.

Knowledge & Experience-

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a cloud engineering or software development role, with a focus on implementing automation or integration services.
  • Proven experience within Azure, AWS or private cloud.
  • Proficient in at least one scripting or programming language such as Python or PowerShell.
  • Ability to articulate business implications and risks in relation to activities undertaken in the role.
  • Good understanding of Agile methodologies.
  • Certifications in relevant technologies such as Microsoft Azure or Terraform are a plus.
