Primary objective

As a Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations (D365 F&O) Technical Architect, you will be the go-to expert for technical design and solution implementation, quickly grasping new concepts and technical skills to address customer problems. A strong communicator, and with demonstrated experience working with cloud technologies, your role combines technical expertise, business analysis skills, and stakeholder management allowing you to excel at problem-solving. As a collaborative team player, you will partner with clients throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring exceptional outcomes that align with the Barhead brand. Thriving on a challenge, you will have a successful track record in delivering D365 F&O ERP projects in the Australian market and experience guiding offshore technical and development resources.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise and guidance in the design and implementation of D365 Finance & Operations solutions aligned with best practices
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to identify and understand business requirements and to deliver pragmatic technical outcomes based on business needs
  • Facilitate, drive and manage client technical workshops
  • Translate and simplify technical requirements and align them to D365 F&O and best practices
  • Develop D365 F&O technical roadmaps for clients to deliver ongoing business value
  • Estimate effort, cost and time for technical implementation
  • Develop technical solutions and architecture designs based on clients business needs
  • Liaise with functional consultants to align technical solutions with client business outcomes.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to offshore development resources.
  • Create technical design documents and documentation.
  • Lead the technical aspects of D365 Finance & Operations projects, including solution configuration, customisation, and integration.
  • Oversee technical project aspects including, ensure adherence to development guidelines, oversee code reviews and optimization of code for performance
  • Oversee the entire project DevOps process for development, including code packaging, deployments, and upgrades.
  • Oversee data management and migration activities
  • Design and manage integrations with third-party systems.
  • Collaborate with project teams to drive technical design, review test cases, and manage project scope and acceptance.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and industry trends in D365 Finance & Operations.

  

Key Skills and Competencies

  • At least 8 years’ experience working on complex D365 F&O or AX 2012 implementation projects, managing multiple technical stakeholders both within your team and the client
  • Previous experience working for a Microsoft D365 F&O Consulting firm or System Integrator is highly desirable
  • Desired certification – MB-500: Microsoft Dynamics 365: Finance and Operations Apps Developer
  • Proven experience in technical solution architecture for D365 Finance & Operations
  • Strong knowledge D365 F&O Application Lifecycle Management including: –
  • o Lifecycle Services
  • o Branching Strategies
  • o Maintaining Cloud Environments
  • o Applying Hotfixes
  • o Packaging code deployments and upgrades
  • o Managing deployments across multiple environments
  • Experience in formulating development guidelines and best practices.
  • Proficiency in extending D365 Finance & Operations functionality using X++ and developing enhancements.
  • Proficient in development languages such as X++, ASP.Net (C#), T-SQL, C++, HTML, and JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with development tools including Visual Studio, VSTS/TFS, LCS, Azure, SSRS, and MorphX.
  • Experience in ERP applications such as D365 Finance & Operations, AX 2012, and AX 2009.
  • Additional skills in Power Platform development, D365 F&O Entity Store, D365 F&O Electronic Reporting, and SSRS reports would be highly regarded
  • Strong project teamwork skills, including experience working in a hybrid Waterfall and Agile methodology environment.
  • Excellent stakeholder and relationship management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively up to client CIO management level.
  • Strong individual time management skills, ability and willingness to adopt a hands-on approach when required
