About the role:

Working in the Managed Services team, you will be delivering high quality engineering and automation to our clients, including DevOps-as-a-Service, leveraging security best practice and Infrastructure as Code with a focus on AWS.

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, you will develop and grow trusted relationships with clients, which complement the company’s commercial and strategic relationships, whilst providing technical leadership to other team members. You’ll contribute to the development of our core platform and leverage modern patterns and practices to meet current and future client requirements. 

Day to day responsibilities:

• Support our lead engineers to drive new architectures and uplift our customer and internal platforms in AWS. 
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to implement the best possible technical solutions for our clients.
• Regularly review customer environments, building customer backlogs to support ongoing continuous improvement of their environment. 
• Ensure that implementations adhere to best practice frameworks as recommended by our Cloud partners.
• Provide technical leadership within the Managed Service Team
• Work on critical, highly complex systems that may leverage AWS ensuring a Secure by Design approach is taken when implementing solutions.
• Work in a fast paced environment with a natural ability to multi-task and troubleshoot to solve critical issues as they arise.

What you’ll need to know to be successful:

• Advanced Cloud Engineering with commercial experience in enterprise production workloads in AWS.
• Advanced level skills in Automation tools, Cloud Formation, Containerisation and Serverless architectures. 
• Commercial experience with source control tools such as Git (GitLab an advantage, GitHub also appropriate).
• Commercial experience with build and deployment pipelines (CI/CD) with a focus on automation (GitLab an advantage, GitHub also appropriate).
• Commercial experience with running / troubleshooting and scripting Windows-based servers using Powershell.
• Commercial experience with running / troubleshooting and scripting Linux-based servers using Bash.
• In depth knowledge of networking constructs including (TCP/IP, UDP) and DNS.
• AWS Associate Level Certification preferred.
• An infrastructure as code first mindset, with strong experience writing IaC using tools such as Terraform or CDK, written in either Python and/or Typescript
